This is the most unprocessed way of eating honey, straight from the hive. Alemany uses honeycomb from hives where the bees are mostly feeding on rosemary and orange blossom, producing a lightly citric, gently herbal flavour with a fresh, acidic aroma.
At its best spread onto warm toast.

Mels Alemany is located in the tiny mountain village Os de Balaguer in the west of Catalonia. The large areas of uncultivated land make it ideal for the production of honeys such as wild thyme and rosemary and they select other varieties from different regions of Spain.
