Pan de coca, a crystal-like, delicate bread is light with a perfect crunchy crisp crust. Hand made in rural Catalonia and hand thrown or lengthened in one move from a fresh dough shape of about 30 cm long to a full elegant long loaf of 90 cms. Traditionally toasted on an open fire and rubbed with garlic & tomato to create pan tumaca or pan con tomate – it is ideal topped with cold cured meats, cheese, cured and smoked fish.
It is wonderful for toasties and equally delicious plain with honey or jam for breakfast.
The pan de coca from Cal Mossen is made using high quality ingredients, without additives or preservatives, using traditional methods.
Contents: 1 metre (500g) stick of artisan coca bread, cut in two halves.
This bread is frozen but will arrive defrosted and lasts well for up to 3 days, it can be re-frozen with little loss of quality.
For a family of 4, 2 loaves for a lunchtime meal is about right. You will get hooked and want to buy a whole box - it is surprisingly easy to get through numerous long loaves quite quickly as its so very light!
