CHEESE CARE

How to look after your cheese

Most of our cheeses are artisan handmade cheeses using either their own or local farmers’ flocks. As a result they can vary with each day’s production and change as they mature. Here are some tips for you to look after your cheese and ensure it is always as close to its best as possible.

WRAPPING

We recommend to wrap your cheeses in wax paper as this reduces the amount of moisture retention by the cheese.

STORAGE ADVICE

We recommend keeping all cheeses refrigerated as this will slow the growth of mould.

SERVING YOUR CHEESE

Your cheese will always taste at its best when it has warmed up to room temperature, we usually recommend an hour or two (depending on the time of year - in particularly warm weather it may be sooner!)

After warming the cheese to room temperature, gently clean the surface of the cheese with a knife to remove unwanted textures and odd flavours from being wrapped.

Try not to cut different cheeses with the same knife as this may alter the flavour.
