Makes 1 sandwich
ingredients
- 2 slices granary bread
- 8 slices of Pastrami
- 2 tbsp Sauerkraut
- 2 slices of cheese for melting
- Chopped Smoked Piparra Chillis
- 5 Boquerones
- English Mustard to taste
- La Chinata Hot Sauce
- For the Russian sauce:
- 1 tbsp Gherkins
- 1 tbsp Pickled Onions
- 1 1/2 tbsp Mayo
- 1 tbsp Ketchup
Method:
Prepare the Russian sauce:
- Chop the onions and gherkins into small chunks
- Mix with the mayo and ketchup
Prepare the sandwich:
- Run the sealed pastrami pack under hot water so the fat melts.
- Layer the bread with a good helping of Russian sauce
- Top with slices of pastrami, then add sauerkraut, guindilla chillies, cheese, boquerones
- Squeeze on mustard, and add a few drops of hot sauce
- Put in a sandwich maker or heat in a pan until the cheese melts.
- Enjoy!
Little tip:
If you don’t like boquerones you could use a splash of Worcestershire sauce
