Monika's Rare Pulse Club
Curated by Brindisa founder Monika Linton, each edition of the Rare Pulse Club celebrates exceptional Spanish heirloom pulses grown in small quantities and selected for the qualities that matter in the pot: flavour, texture and a true sense of place.
There are two more boxes to enjoy this year. Join us for this edition of the Rare Pulse Club and discover the remaining boxes in the collection. You don’t need to have joined from the beginning – sign up now and be part of the Club before our brand-new edition begins next year.
Box No. 4 brings together three distinctive varieties with strong connections to Castilla y León. Arrocina beans are tiny and delicate, with a fine skin and smooth, buttery centre. Black chickpeas are dark, nutty and substantial, retaining a satisfying bite before giving way to a soft interior. Caparrón Largo, with its beautiful purple speckling, develops a rich, velvety texture while holding its shape through slow cooking.
For this edition, we have partnered with Samantha Clark, chef, cookbook author and co-founder of Moro. Samantha has created three delicious recipes that bring out the individual character of each pulse: a vibrant Arrocina bean salad with ripe tomatoes, chorizo, red onion and Brindisa Forum vinegar; a warm black chickpea dip enriched with caramelised onion, garlic, cumin and saffron; and Caparrón beans with grilled courgettes, sweet herbs, pine nuts and lemon.
Together, the collection reveals just how varied and rewarding pulses can be. With practical cooking guidance and recipes designed for the home kitchen, Box No. 4 makes cooking from dry feel simple - and turns three remarkable ingredients into generous, memorable food.
Each box includes:
- 1 pack of Arrocina beans
- 1 pack of black chickpeas
- 1 pack of Caparrón Largo beans
- Pedroñeras Garlic
- Three profile cards with provenance, tasting notes and cooking guidance
- A recipe booklet featuring three recipes by Samantha Clark
